All rooms at this hotel are 288 sq ft suites and feature air conditioning, a 42-inch flat-screen cable TV, a microwave, and a small refrigerator.
Guests also have access to a laundrette, fitness center, complimentary hot breakfast, and paid parking.
Embassy Suites Historic District is within walking distance to the SCAD Museum of Art and the popular restaurant, The Grey, which is located in an Art Deco Greyhound bus terminal!
It is also a couple of blocks away from the Johnny Mercer Theater and Savannah Civic Center.

DoubleTree by Hilton Historic Savannah
The DoubleTree by Hilton Historic Savannah (411 W Bay St) is a little closer to the first-time visitor attractions located around the bustling River Street.
Its heated terrace pool varies between 4 ft and 5 ft in depth, and there is also a smaller 3 ft dipping pool.
The pool area has a small number of loungers and chairs, some with shade.
Rooms start at 310 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a coffee machine.
Some rooms have a jacuzzi in them.
There is also a bar, restaurant, and fitness center on-site.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Historic is close to the Ships of the Sea Museum and City Market, which is where you will find bars with open container policies, museums such as the American Prohibition Museum, and boutique stores.
I personally vouch for the punch cocktail slush at the Georgia Wine Tasting Room!

JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District
The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District (400 West River St) is home to a luxurious rooftop pool that is surrounded by sun loungers and palm trees.
The Compass Pool Lounge also offers Cabana and Daybed Packages and a seasonal kitchen and bar.
Rooms start at 325 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a minibar.
JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is an attraction in itself, with 12 restaurants, a rooftop bar, art galleries, and a guest-only fitness suite.

You can’t beat its location, as the hotel sits by the River Savannah with views of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge.

For me, one of the highlights of my trip to Savannah was a ride on the Georgia Belle; we did the dinner cruise, but if you plan to dine out before it, you can enjoy the sailing only ticket option.
Andaz Savannah
A stay at the Andaz Savannah (14 Barnard St) includes access to their terrace pool and fire pit.
The compact outdoor pool has sun lounges and cabanas to the side of the pool.
Modernly decorated rooms range from queen, king, suite, and loft space, which accommodates up to four guests.
Rooms feature air conditioning and a 42-inch flat-screen TV, and some have views of the terrace pool.
There is also a fitness suite and restaurant.
Andaz Savannah is located near one of Savannah’s 22 squares, Ellis Square, Little Duck Diner, which locals love, and one of my favorite bars – The Peacock Lounge.
Plus, City Market, City Hall, and River Street.

Holiday Inn Express Savannah – Historic District, an IHG Hotel
Holiday Inn Express Savannah – Historic District, an IHG Hotel (199 E Bay S), is one of the few Savannah rooftop hotels with a city view, and guests can’t believe that it is rated two stars!
The main pool is 3-5 ft, and there is also a 3 ft dipping pool.
Loungers and chairs tucked inside a completely shaded area are available for guests’ comfort.
Rooms start at 300 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a coffee machine.
There is also a fitness suite, complimentary breakfast, and access to paid parking.
The Holiday Inn Express Savannah – Historic District is steps away from River Street, which is loaded with restaurants, bars, and stores.

Thompson Savannah
The Thompson Savannah (201 Port St) has a seasonal pool deck where guests can enjoy a poolside cocktail, or two!
Rooms start at 340 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and the use of complimentary hotel bikes.
There is also a fitness center with Peloton bikes, a bar, a restaurant, and breakfast, which is included in the price.
Thompson Savannah is located a short walk from The Pirates House, a tourist attraction that includes a museum and restaurant.

Perry Lane Hotel
For a discreet rooftop hotel with epic city views, consider the Perry Lane Hotel (256 E Perry St).
The compact heated pool has plush seating with shade and 360-degree views of the Historic District!

The DeSoto
The DeSoto (15 E Liberty) is another luxury rooftop pool in Savannah.
Sun loungers and chairs surround the large swimming pool, and there is a rooftop bar for poolside drinks and snacks.
At night, the pool area is lit up by fairy lights, very tasteful.
Rooms start at 225 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a work desk.
Guests can use the fitness suite and join visitors in the restaurant or patio bar.
The DeSoto is located near Madison Square, the Sorrel Weed House, and the Six Pence Pub, which has a British red phone booth!

Home2 Suites By Hilton Savannah Airport
Moving out towards Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Home2 Suites By Hilton (860 Towne Center Blvd, Pooler) has a saltwater terrace pool with sunloungers and patio umbrellas for shade.
Rooms start at 350 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a lounge area with a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a kitchenette.
Guests can also work out at the fitness center and use the BBQ facilities.
Pets can stay here, too.
This is one of the few rooftop pool hotels in Savannah with free parking!

Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport
The final hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport (80 Clyde E Martin Dr), which has a L-shaped pool.
While it is more of a terrace pool than a rooftop, it does provide some lakeside views.
Rooms start at 286 sq ft and feature air conditioning, a pay-per-view TV, a microwave, and a refrigerator.
Guests can take advantage of the on-site restaurant, fitness center, and free airport shuttle bus.
