There are three main areas for Tybee Island oceanfront rentals – the popular pier, which is just steps away from parking, and Tybrisa where you’ll find souvenir shops, snack bars, dive bars, sports pubs, and lunch spots. This area of the beach is where larger groups tend to gather.

Mid Beach is a little quieter but does involve some walking to your car and beach amenities.

Finally, North Beach, near the lighthouse, is popular with families and has a large car park.

Let’s find out which rental is right for your vacation!

Hotel Tybee

Hotel Tybee (1401 Strand Ave) is a popular beachfront accommodation offering rooms with a view, two outdoor pools, free bike rental, and one parking space per booking.

Unless your rental offers a space, visitors have to pay for all-day parking on Tybee, a complaint made by many, so this is a great bonus.

Rooms start at 205 sq ft, accommodating one to five guests, some rooms face inland, while others have full or partial view of the ocean.

Amenities also include a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee/tea maker, air-conditioning, an iron/ironing board, and a flat-screen TV with digital channels.

The cottage sleeps eight – two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with a queen bed, one loft with two twin beds, two bathrooms, a fully equipped, kitchen, and a private deck.

Personally, I love a deck. One of the highlights of my Tybee vacation was listening to the wild, lapping waves while reading my book in privacy.

Remember to pack your beach towels and gear.

Well, the CQ owners have kitted out The Deck to the same standards as The Collins Quarter and CQ Forsyth.

Cool tip: we were chatting to a a honeymooning couple at the Beachside Colony who told us that they had seen bioluminescent glow-in-the-dark activity in the water!

A quick note, while this oceanfront rental is dog-friendly, Tybee Island beaches are not.
