Lewes Beach is located on Delaware Bay and families like this location as there are hardly any waves in the water.

If you are looking for a beach with a boardwalk, you won’t get that in Lewes, keep reading to find out which beaches are little livelier.

While municipal beaches in Delaware are free, state parks with beaches such as Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Fenwick Island incur a $5 out of state fee.

It is $10 for in state residents.

Spend the day at the beach, enjoying the calm waves. Lifeguards are present between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Lewes Beach is free and is open from 7 am to dusk.

There are public restrooms and shower facilities at the beach.

You can take your furry friend but only during off-season, dogs are not allowed on Lewes Beach from 8:00 am and 6:30 pm between May 1 and September 30.

Hop aboard the 17-mile crossing of the Delaware Bay by ferry to Cape May, NJ.

If you plan to spend time in Cape May, book this sunset cruise and try to spot some dolphins.

What about parking in Lewes?

There is chargeable on-street parking and parking lots in the downtown area between May 1 and October 14 and at parking lots at Lewes Beach between May 1 and September 30.

Beach Resorts in Rehoboth Beach

If you are wondering where to stay at Rehoboth Beach you have plenty of choice between luxury resorts and simple inns.

Rehoboth Beach is a great spot for families and couples.

Note: Rehoboth, Dewey and Bethany Beach are pretty close together and takes 30-minutes to drive. You can easily vacation at one beach and take day trips to the others.

You can park for a maximum of 12 hours from 10 am-10 pm the Friday before Memorial Day through the second Sunday following Labor Day, excluding Mondays.

If you like a vacation with party vibes this may be the beach for you!

Let’s take a look at where to stay in Dewey Beach, – options are limited but you can stay at either Rehoboth or Bethany and day trip.

The Bay Resort for Simple Rooms and a Secluded Beach

Again, if nothing suits or all rooms are booked, consider the bigger beach area at Rehoboth and travel in.
